CCTV chimney inspection
Camera inspection of a sooted flue, checking the brickwork and joints along the length of the chimney rather than judging its condition from the fireplace.
Chimney repairs
Chimney stack rebuilt and repointed, with fresh flaunching and new pots bedded in to keep water out of the brickwork below.
Stove maintenance
Wood burner serviced: the firebox was full of ash and debris sitting over the grate, so it was cleared out, the baffle and fire bricks checked and the door rope and glass inspected before the stove was handed back ready to use.
Bird nest removal
Large jackdaw nest cleared from a blocked flue. The twigs and nesting material were pulled down through the fireplace opening, the flue swept and checked afterwards, and a guard recommended to stop it happening again.
Chimney inspection
Inspection down the chimney from the pot, checking the condition of the flue and brickwork the whole way down after the sweep's brush had been passed through.
Fireplace and stove works
Stove and fireplace worked on within a stone surround, with floors protected and the hearth area cleared and cleaned down before finishing.
